General Permit Steps
Typical workflow for building and development permits in Texas.
Site Plan & Engineering
Prepare a site plan showing boundaries, setbacks, drainage, and structures. ALFA Engineering provides stamped civil/structural drawings.
Submit Permit Application
File your application with the city or county development office. Most jurisdictions accept online submissions via their permitting portal.
Plan Review
The jurisdiction reviews your plans for code compliance. Corrections may be requested before approval.
Pay Fees & Receive Permit
Once approved, pay the required permit fees and receive your permit card to display on-site.
Inspections
Schedule inspections at required milestones (foundation, framing, final). ALFA Engineering provides PE-stamped inspection reports for residential and commercial projects.
Certificate of Occupancy
After final inspection approval, the jurisdiction issues a Certificate of Occupancy (CO) or Certificate of Completion.
