When a stormwater quality inspection may be needed

Stormwater quality inspections may be needed for post-construction BMP compliance, MS4 stormwater requirements, TCEQ Construction General Permit inspections, and ongoing facility stormwater compliance. ALFA's licensed engineers perform stormwater quality inspections and prepare PE-stamped inspection reports.

Stormwater quality inspections are distinct from construction SWPPP inspections, drainage design, and stormwater permit renewal. Construction SWPPP inspections verify active construction-site erosion and sediment controls; drainage design prepares construction plans; and permit renewal is a separate regulatory filing. Stormwater quality inspection services included in your proposal are only those stated in the proposal.

Project steps

  1. 1Records review — ALFA reviews the facility's stormwater permit, previous reports, BMP records, and any agency or MS4 notices.
  2. 2Site inspection — a licensed engineer inspects the stormwater BMPs and documented conditions.
  3. 3Reporting — a PE-stamped inspection report documents observed conditions, maintenance needs, and compliance findings.
  4. 4Coordination — ALFA reviews findings with the owner; the reviewing authority makes the final compliance determination.

Inspection frequency is set by the applicable permit and the reviewing authority, and is not the same for every facility or location. ALFA does not assume a single inspection frequency applies throughout Texas. Confirm the required inspection schedule for your facility with the applicable permit and authority. ALFA does not guarantee permit compliance or inspection outcomes.

Information needed for a quote

  • Facility type and use
